About Us

YesWay Artists was conformed in 2018, by like minded individuals who wanted to produce art. With a variety of backgrounds, our artist association is conformed by numerous people with very different and amazing capabilities.

We made a commitment to give the Guatemalan public new, different and revolutionary stories and to remind them why art is for. Mostly we do it through plays that touch on wide variety of subjects and diversity, making people think, laugh and learn.

Javier Melgar Santoveña

Actor/Artistic Director

Jave is a Guatemalan actor and writer, with a Bachelor’s in Acting and a Master's en Advanced Dramatic Training from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, in Los Angeles, California.  With over 12 years of experience in the US and Guatemalan market.  Check out my IMDB or Google me by my name.

Amaya Manuel

Director

With a background in film and multimedia design, Amaya is a Guatemalan director, writer, producer and creative with a bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Production and Cinematic Arts. His experience ranges from writing and directing for both short and feature length films such as The Eye and The Wall (2021; co-writer), St. Amorth (2018; co-writer and director), Takeout (2017; writer and director), to directing plays such as Dog Sees God (2019) and Relationships Suck (2020); both under Artistas Unidos GT. In more recent year's, he's developed a career as a Creative Director at the streetwear and merchandising brand "Mayan Funk".

Ligia Sandoval

Actress/Stunt Coordinator

Fight choreographer, stunt coordinator, theatre producer and director, actress, singer and dancer. Has a BA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Business & Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Live and Performing Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago. She is a certified Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. Primarily works as stunt coordinator and casting director for film. She teaches musical theatre, stage combat, jazz dance and tap dance at Estudio Thriambos and is Co-Founder of the theatre production company Tres de Tres Producciones. Her most recent theatre credits include: Ensemble member in “Matilda The Musical” (Spotlight/Teatro Dick Smith, IGA); Assistant Director and Role of Clara in the musical “Mamá Está Más Chiquita” (Compañía Artística Perséfone/Teatro Lux); Role of Blanca in the play “Perfectos Desconocidos” (Quinta Columna Producciones/Teatro Dick Smith, IGA); Director of the play “Dinero Oculto” (Tres de Tres Producciones/Teatro Thriambos); Role of Lilian in the musical “Lo Mejor de Ella” (Thriambos Producciones/Teatro de Cámara “Hugo Carrillo”, CCMAA); Role of Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago (Saravandah Producciones/Teatro de Cámara “Hugo Carrillo”, CCMAA).

Laura Rosas

Actress/Vocal Coordinator

Laura is a Guatemalan actor, dancer and singer with over 10 years of experience in each of her crafts. As an actor, her most recent projects have been alongside Yes Way Artists such as Relationships Suck (2020) and Dog Sees God (2019). She has also been a part of musical theater productions such as Annie (2013-2014) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2010).  As a dancer, she has excelled as a choreographer and teacher, with 8 years of experience teaching tap at all levels and ages, and more recently, heels. She is also a seasoned dancer in disciplines such as ballet (grade 7 RAD), hip-hop, jazz, broadway jazz, contemporary, etc, allowing her to win multiple first places in national competitions. She has also been a dancer in productions such as Navidad Fantastica (2010-2018; Saravandah Producciones) and multiple music videos. 
In singing, she has experience both in contemporary and classical styles. She’s been part of the Guatemalan opera choir, Querido Arte (2019) and has spent a year working with the Guatemalan choir Cafella, which gave her the opportunity to participate in the first ever hispanic production of The Sacred Veil (2023, Eric Whitacre, Tony Silvestri), training with Jake Runestad, and working alongside Tony and conductor Joel Rinsema. She then proceeded to participate at an international level in the Festival Coral Internacional de Medellin, Colombia (2023). She has received contemporary and musical theater training with international vocal coaches such as Nikki Maas and Maddie Tarbox.

Santiago Javora

Actor/Tech Lead

Santiago is a 31-year-old computer science engineer with a passion for acting. He graduated from a Guatemalan university in 2016 and since then he started his journey in the wonderful art of acting. He studied acting in Guatemala for a couple of years and has been acting since then. He has been part of some short films, TV commercials, and plays, both in English and Spanish. He is always balancing being a computer science engineer with being an actor, making it challenging but always rewarding.

Andrea Menes

Actress

Andrea Menes is a seasoned actress with a career spanning over 13 years in the world of theater. Her artistic journey has taken her across Guatemala and Mexico, where she has left an indelible mark through her compelling performances. Andrea has been a prominent figure in the theatrical scene, boasting an impressive resume of over 50 seasons of live theater. Her dedication to the craft shines through her diverse roles and ability to captivate audiences with her on-stage presence. In addition to her theatrical achievements, Andrea has ventured into the world of audiovisual projects and commercial advertisements, further showcasing her versatility as an actress. Andrea's commitment to honing her skills has taken her on a journey of learning across borders. She has studied her craft in Guatemala, the United States, and Mexico, immersing herself in different acting techniques and approaches. Her dedication to continuous improvement sets her apart as a dedicated artist.

Diego Sierra

Actor/Singer

Diego Alejandro Sierra is a Guatemalan actor with 10 years of experience as of 2023. He has studied in múltiple academies with course completed in México, Argentina and Nicaragua. Notable parts include: Hamlet (Hamlet) Miguel cara de Angel (El señor Presidente) Andrew (Relationships Suck). He is also on of the lead singers of a prominent Guatemalan band named ''A Finales de Octubre''.

Flora Campollo

Actress/PR Manager

Flora Campollo, a 32-year-old creative spirit, with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and a Master's in Corporate Communication. Her artistic journey began at the age of sixteen when she stepped onto the stage for the first time, in the role of Annie. Later, in "Hairspray," she assumed the character of Amber VonTussle, showcasing her versatility as an actress, and in "Grease," she charmed as Frenchy, proving her knack for both drama and comedy. But her artistic canvas extended beyond the world of musical theater. She ventured into the realm of dramatic theater, as CB's Sister in "Dog Sees God."
While her journey led her through the realms of television, radio, and print media, Flora's passion for the arts remained steadfast. Today, she operates her boutique agency, specializing in digital marketing. Yet, the stage still beckons her and she occasionally participates in acting projects like the short film "Ruptura” and a small role in the upcoming Guatemalan film "Un piloto en apuros”, produced by Bambuchía Productions.

Roco Cabrera

Actor/Collaborator

Actor, stunt performer, singer, drummer, photographer, videographer, film artist and taekwondoin. Founder of the photo and video company Batz Productions. Primarily works as a freelancer in film and commercials as an actor and in the stunts and art departments since 2020. Aside from film and theatre, he is also a professional chef. His most recent credits include: Role of Carlos in the play “Dinero Oculto” (Tres de Tres Producciones/Teatro Thriambos); Stunt Double in the short film “Casa Paraíso” (Thesis Project - NY Film Academy); Assistant Stunt Coordinator and Role of Young Lieutenant in “Fireflies at El Mozote” (Magenta Light Productions/ Premiere Entertainment); Role of Federico in the short film “Letargia” (Thesis Project - BA in Film, Visual Arts & Entrepreneurship, Universidad Francisco Marroquín); Assistant Stunt Coordinator and Stunt Performer in the feature film “Rita” (La Casa de Producción).

Kim Lou

Actress/Singer

Is Singer, songwriter, actress and chef. Art has always been her passion since she was a little girl. She started as an independent artist in 2011, releasing 3 albums of her own throughout her career, and more than 20 music videos.


She’s been in different musicals in Guatemala, to name some Godspell, Caperucita súper cuento musical, el jorobado de nuestra señora de paris and more. 
She studied acting for film in the 4 week acting for film program en NYFA (New York firlm academy) in L.A.

 

She was pre nominated in 2019 in the first round of the American Grammys in 4 categories: 
Best New Artist, Pop Solo Performance, Record of the Year
Producer of the Year,  with her single MOVE ALONG.

Andrea Bonilla

Actress

Learner, empath and practically a nerd, Andrea was born in 1981. Ever since she was a little girl she loved to sing and dance, and pretty much any other form of art. Besides being an actress, her other jobs, which she refers to as “mortal work” includes being a Psychologist and Psychotherapist, Sexologist and soon to be a Criminologist. She believes that human beings are incredibly interesting to be observed and studied and to be portrayed in the theater in all their complexity and sometimes their darkness.  She joined YESWAYARTISTS in 2024.

Mertxe Alzaga

Actress/Co-Founder

Mertxe Alzaga is an actress, director, and producer from Spain who starred in many plays working with directors from Guatemala, Mexico, Argentina, Italy, and the United Kingdom. In 2018, she founded Artistas Unidos GT, the first theater company to produce hits in English in Guatemala. With this endeavor, she brought a new concept to new audiences. Currently she works worldwide in Spanish, English and even multilingual! In November we will see her at the international premier of La Tinelaria, at Corral Cervantes, Madrid. A mix of Spanish classic theater and political theater, a linguistic and theatrical game for a critical reflection on the socio-economic contradictions today.
